This is truly a rare find! It's a 1930s/ 1940s Chenille Beach Swim Cover Up Cape! It's made of white striped shag texture cotton chenille with aqua trim, two large raspberry pink anchors on either side on the front and a very large yellow and aqua sailboat on the back. It's in good condition for it's age, no holes, but there are some yellow spots on the front and back near the hem that would not lift when cleaned. Tiny bit of edging missing at bottom front. Cape may have originally had ties at the collar, but it can still just be worn over the shoulders. Shoulders are about 16 inches across, width when closed by bust area 50 inches, and length 35 inches. Shown on a dress form measuring B36" W25" H36". This is an authentic vintage piece in wearable condition, that has been cleaned and repaired (if necessary). Flaws will be noted, but please ask any questions you may have as this is a FINAL SALE garment and cannot be returned. All items are measured flat the same way we measure our reproduction items. The maximum measurement is listed. Most vintage fabrics do not have stretch, so please take that into consideration when looking at size.
